Parental acceptance and rejection theory in individuals, emotional intelligence, emotional coping and family life relationship between saturation levels

This study is a descriptive and relationship-seeking type study conducted to determine the relationship between parental acceptance-rejection theory and emotional intelligence, emotional coping and family life satisfaction levels in individuals. The sample of the study consisted of 750 participants aged 18 and over who agreed to participate in the study. The data of the study were collected using the Personal Data Form, Parental Acceptance and Rejection Scale, Emotional Intelligence Scale, Emotional Approach Coping Scale and Family Life Satisfaction Scale. Depending on whether individuals who agree to participate in the study accept the face-to-face or online method; Data were collected web-based or face-to-face. IBM SPSS Statistics version 22.0 program was used to evaluate the data. According to the results of the study, the average of the parental acceptance-rejection scale was 39.17±12.06; emotional intelligence scale average was 71.12±15.76; It was found that the average of the emotional approach coping scale was 56.97±14.26 and the average of the family life satisfaction scale was 45.45±22.14. A significant and negative relationship was found between the parental acceptance-rejection scale and the emotional intelligence and emotional approach coping scale, and a significant and positive relationship was found between the family life satisfaction scale. There is a significant and positive difference between the emotional intelligence scale and the emotional coping scale; A significant and negative relationship was found between the sense of family life, and a significant and negative relationship was found between the emotional approach coping scale and the family life satisfaction scale. Suggestions were made according to the results of the study.
