Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the child-rearing attitudes of parents who have children between the ages of 4-12 in terms of religious education in the family. The relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The accessible population of the research is parents with 4-6 year old children residing in Malatya. In this universe, 224 parents determined by random method constituted the sample. In the study, data were collected using a demographic information form, supportive and oppressive attitude scale in religious education and parent attitude scale (desirable and undesirable parental attitudes). The application process was carried out face to face using a survey form between 20.04.2022/01.08.2022. The data obtained in the research were analyzed by transferring them to the SPSS 26.0 program. In the analysis of the data, which was found to have a normal distribution in accordance with the hypotheses of the study, independent sample t-test was used for bivariates, One Way Anova was used for multivariates, and regression analysis techniques were used to determine the level and direction of the relationship and the correlation and effect level. Some results obtained as a result of the research are as follows: As a result of the t-test analysis, it is seen that there is no significant difference in the undesirable parental attitude according to the gender variable, while there is a significant difference in the desired parental attitude according to the gender variable. It is revealed that mothers have a higher level of desirable attitudes than fathers. As a result of ANOVA analysis, there was no significant difference in undesirable parental attitudes according to the education variable; It has been determined that there is a significant difference between supportive attitude in religious education, oppressive attitude in religious education and undesirable parental attitude according to the education variable. According to the results of the correlation analysis, it was determined that while there was a relationship between the desired attitudes of the parents and their supportive attitudes in religious education and their oppressive attitudes in religious education, while there was a relationship between the undesirable attitudes of the parents and their oppressive attitudes in religious education, there was no relationship with the supportive attitudes in religious education. According to the results of the applied regression analysis, supportive attitude in religious education and oppressive attitude in religious education significantly predict desired and undesirable parental attitudes.
