The investigation of the relationship between parents' attitudes towards child rearing and their childhood traumatic experience whith some demografic features

From the birth of the baby ,the social environment in which it first interacted is the family. Healthy relationship between the family and the child is an important matter of fact in maintaining the child's life and forming sense of security. Parents' healthy attitudes help the child find the answer of the question "Who am I?" and contribute to the development of a healthy identity. The aim is to investigate the relationship between childhood traumatic experience and some demographic features of parents with children aged 2-6 years old and their attitudes towards child rearing. The other goal of the research is to help the parents who have trouble with the attitudes towards their children and also help the people who will work in this are aby using the results of theresearch. The sample is consisted of theparents of children between the ages of 2-6 years who attend kindergarten attached to the Ministry of Family and Social Policy in Adana, Çukurova and Seyhan provinces in the 2016/2017 academic year. Method: Parental Attitude Scaleand (PAS) Childhood Traumatic Experience Scale (CTES) were used. Findings: According to findings in the research, demographic levels of mother attitudes were found to be higher than father attitudes. The permissive levels of father attitudes were found to be higher than mother attitudes. There is no significant difference in the authoritarian and extreme protective attitudes of parents. According to the findings of the One-Way ANOVA test between parents' attitudes and their ages, it was found that younger and older parents were significantly more democratic than middle age. Parents with higher incom elevels were found to be more democratic and parents with lowerin come levels were found to be more protective. As the number of children decreases, the democrat icattitudes of parents increaseand as the number of children increases, the parents' authoritarian attitudes increase. It was found that there was a similarity between parents 'ownattitudes and their parents' attitudes. In the Pearson Correlation analysis conducted between childhood traumatic experience and parental attitude scale subscale scores, a negative relationship was found between childhood traumatic experience and parental extreme protective attitude.
