The critics and analysis of Abu'l-Barakat Ahmad b. Muhammad ed-Derdir's work Şerh Tevzîhi Envârit-Tenzîl

This study focuses on the life, scholarly legacy, and the critical edition and analysis of Sharḥu Tawḍīḥi Anwāri't-Tanzīl, a work authored by one of the prominent 18th-century Egyptian scholars and Khalwatī shaykhs, Abū al-Barakāt Aḥmad b. Muḥammad al-Dardīr. In the first chapter, the lives and works of al-Bayḍāwī, the author of Anwāru't-Tanzīl wa Asrāru't-Ta'wīl, and Tatarcık-Zāde ʿAbdullāh Efendi, the commentator on that text, are briefly discussed. Following this, the biography, scholarly character, writings, and intellectual orientation of al-Dardīr, who authored the Sharḥ, are examined in detail. The second chapter provides information about the title of the work, its attribution, and the extant manuscript copies. A comprehensive analysis of the content is presented, and the critical edition of Sharḥu Tawḍīḥi Anwāri't-Tanzīl is carried out based on a comparative examination of different manuscript versions. The conclusion offers an overall assessment of the author's scholarly contribution, the methodology employed in his work, and the findings obtained during the research process, along with some suggestions for future studies. This study not only introduces a previously unstudied scholar at the graduate and doctoral level, but also aims to bring to light his notable tafsīr work Sharḥu Tawḍīḥi Anwāri't-Tanzīl for the benefit of the academic world.
