Godhead concept of Ebu's-Senâ Shemseddin el-Isfahânî

In this thesis an Ashari kalâm theologian Ebu's-Senâ el-Isfahânî's views about a main method subject of Kalâm discipline, godhead, is examined. In first chapter Isfahani's life, works and scholarly character are portrayed. In second chapter logical basis that enables proving God's existence is held with Isfahani's proofs about the subject Within this context, Isfahani's proofs of possibility, origination, and purpose and order about logical proofs of God's existence in Kalâm discipline are evaluated. In third chapter Isfahani's understanding of attribute is scrutinised, and it is tried to decide its situation within kalâm sects, and his idiosyncratic views and originality is discussed. In fourth chapter one of the most immemorial discussions of Kalâm discipline, Ruyetullah (observation of God by eye afterlife) is held, and Isfahani's views on subject and his objections to other sects are mentioned.
