Abstract (EN)

This thesis examines the literary texts published in Aydabir journal, the first period of which was published between 1935-1936 and the second period between 1952-1955 by Yusuf Ziya Ortaç and Orhan Seyfi Orhon, thematically with respect to their contribution to the literature. The first section begins by analyzing the journalism activities in the years when Aydabir appeared in publication life and its ideological, political, and thus cultural background, and introduces Aydabir journal in terms of content and style. The second section first classifies and examines the poems published in the journal according to their themes. Next, it evaluates the articles written on the genre of poetry and other poetry activities in the journal (translated poems, poetry competitions). The third section is allocated for a detailed examination of fictional genres (story and novel) and articles related to these genres. The fourth section reviews all non-fiction articles (interview, memoir, survey, criticism, essay, joke, etc.) in the journal. The conclusion section assesses the place of literary activity in Aydabir journal in Turkish literature. The appendix provides an index of the literary works discussed in the thesis in an alphabetical order of the writers' names.
