The effect of music activities applied to children aged 60-72 months attending pre-school education on children's listening skills

In this research, the impact of music activities implemented in preschool educational institutions on the listening skills of 60-72 months old children has been examined. The study group consists of two classes of 60-72 months old children attending a preschool institution in Bolu. The children in the class where music activities were implemented formed the experimental group, while those in the class where no music activities were implemented formed the control group. The "Preschool Listening Skills Assessment Scale" developed by Öner Özkan and Yurtseven (2015) was used to measure the children's listening skills. According to the results of the study, a statistically significant difference was observed between the pre-test and post-test scores of 60-72 months old children in the experimental group who participated in the music activities. A statistically significant difference was also observed between the pre-test and post-test scores of 60-72 months old children in the control group. A statistically significant difference in favor of the experimental group was observed between the post-test scores of the experimental and control groups in terms of listening skills.
