Examination of Eflatun Cem Güney story in the context of sensitivity education

In this research, it is aimed to examine the tales of Eflatun Cem Güney in the context of sensitivity education. Qualitative research method was used in the research because the data obtained from the works of Eflatun Cem Güney were interpreted and evaluated with a qualitative approach. In the process of examining the data, document analysis was used. The data obtained in the research were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. Eflatun Cem Güney's 20 tales among 70 tales constitute the material of this research. Twenty tales were randomly selected among 23 tales collected under the name of the book of tales published by the Directorate of National Education in the 3rd edition from Culture Publications and sent to schools in the 2022-2023 academic year. Used in the works of Etoğlu Kibris (2019), Karakuş Tayşi (2019), Alamdar and Süngü (2017), Aslan (2013, 2016); The categories that the researcher changed by taking expert opinion were named. Data were collected with the created sensitivity categories. Reliability was ensured by using the Miles- Huberman reliability formula. As a result, it has been seen that the sensitivities in the works are suitable for children's world of meaning. Except for 4 of the 35 sensitivity issues identified, the others were detected in different amounts of works. In this direction, it has been determined that the works examined are rich in terms of sensitivity issues. It has been concluded that these works can raise awareness about sensitivity in the readers. The fact that Eflatun Cem Güney's works are so rich in terms of sensitivity is thought to be very beneficial for the development of children. It is important for children to get acquainted with these works, which contain correct messages and are very rich in sensitivity, in this period when the love and habit of reading books is formed.
