Scarcity of the number of female managers in the education system has been a remarkable issue in Turkey, where the position of women and gender equality in society is frequently argued today. Related to sex stereotyping imposed upon women by school administration and the factors which prevent women from being managers, much research has been carried out recently. It is strongly stressed that attitudes towards female managers are of great significance, which is one of the reasons for the scarcity of female managers . This research ; aimed to investigate the attitutes of teachers and administrators towards women administrators. The population of the research consisted of the teachers and administrators at public schools in Adana's districts (Seyhan, Çukurova, Yüreğir and Sarıçam) province where women held an administrative position in 2015-2016 academic year. The sample consisted of 818 teachers and administrators. Descriptive survey method was used to conduct the research. Attitudes Towards Women As Managers Scale were used to collect data. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software programme was used to analyze the data. For descriptive statistics, frequency, percent, average and Standard deviation were used. For the statistical analysis t and ANOVA tests were used. As a results of the data analysis; it was found out that there are meaningful differences between the groups at gender, at age, type of the schools, type of tasks. However, no meaningful differences were found between the groups at educational level of the teachers.
