The contribution of visualization of information and designin education to competence

Education is one of the fundamental structures with a strong impact on human development, requiring continuous research, production, and attention. In the field of education, evaluating the impact of visualization and design in the transfer of knowledge is crucial for improving the learning process and experience of learners. The aim of this research is to examine the relationship between education and design disciplines in the context of information visualization and design, and to demonstrate the role of visual communication designers in this relationship. This study aims to present the impact of information visualization and design on learning processes in education. In the first part, the nature of learning, the journey of knowledge in the mind, attention, and perception from cognitive processes are investigated with a designer's approach. The second part examines the concept of information visualization and design, the role of these concepts in learning processes, and the design elements and principles used in educational materials. In the third part, sample educational materials are analyzed in terms of information visualization and design. As an application project of the study, an instructional material design is proposed, combining print and digital media, limited to a specified learner group, course, and learning area. The fourth section details the design and production process. A study was conducted to evaluate the instructional material design and address the general questions of the research. The analysis of the data obtained from interviews with field experts from both disciplines and the findings are also presented in this section.
