Abstract (EN)
Recently, the everlasting increase in the amount of information and the changing in theories about the learning of information affect the approaches of the teaching of information The rapid developments in the computer world influence the field of education as well as other disciplines. The traditional expository approaches based upon memorizing are gradually being replaced with computer assisted education. For these reasons, the using of computers in education is being necessary. Today instead of the subject whether the computers must be used or not used in education, there are various studies related to the most effective using of computers in education.Based on these considerations, this study is made to examine the success of students with an application that includes subjects that signifies the importance and necessity in chemistry education. In addition, to find Adobe Flash programming language is suitable platform other animation software applications comparison is carried out. Thesis include animations made with Flash, Java programming language and 3DS Max. With comparison done in ease of making these animations and visual impact on students, Flash animation software have been identified as more advantageous. On autumn term of 2010?2011 academic year, the research was applied in General Chemistry Lessons, at Selçuk Univesity, Education Faculty of Elementary Education for the first grade students. Amony present classes one of them was choosen randomly as done is experiment group, the other one was choosen as control group. Researching was applying to totaly 104 students on experiment and control group. The topics ?Structure of Atom and Periodical Table? which is involved in Schedule of Elementary Education Programmes were explained to experiment group by Power point application including the animations and was explained to control group by Powerpoint application including stable materials. After and before application pre- and post-tests prepared about the topics were given to experiment and control groups.Performance test as prepared to compare the success of subjects before and after the experiment. Achievement test, for measuring the levels of knowledge, comprehension, application and total achievement. It was given to the groups before and after the application as pre-test and post-test. The data obtained from the pre-test and post-test of the groups were analyzed by using SPSS 16.0 version in order to compare them at defined levels. Statistical analyse result was shown that the achievement level of experiment group having lesson with animation is much higher than the accomplishment level of control group having lesson with conventional material.Key Words: Computer Aided Education, Animation, Chemistry Education
