Abstract (EN)
Women's employment is of great importance in the realization of economic development and growth in Turkey. Problems such as traditional mentality, housework and care responsibilities, gender discrimination, glass ceiling and wage inequality prevent women from being active in working life and cause gender inequality to grow. Due to these problems, women's employment rates in the labor market are insufficient and make it more difficult for them to become economically stronger. The solution to these problems is possile by improving the working conditions of women and making arrangements in their family lives. It is necessary to ensure that these regulations are made by the state to be more effective. In this thesis, the economic importance of women's employment in Turkey and its economic effects were examined based on the TRC regions. First of all, the general situation of women's employment was discussed comprehensively and compared with the sub-regions ( TRC1, TRC2, and TRC3 ) with Turkey in general, and its effects on the countr's economy were examined. In this context, suggestions and opinions were presented in order to eliminate the thoughts such as the problems experienced bey women and the fulfillment of the duties assigned to them, and to make appropriate polices and legal regulations in order to bring women into business life. Key Words: Economic Growth, Women's Employment, Women's Unemployment, Women's Labor Force Participation, TRC Region.
