The role and the importance of entrepreneurship in the economic growth and progress

The aim of this thesis is to investigate the effects of entrepreneurship on economic growth and development. To make the overall balance of the national economy sustainable, to minimize the unemployment problem, to bring budget and foreign trade to low levels, to support entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship. As entrepreneurship is one of the main drivers of economic growth and development, countries implement many policies to support and promote entrepreneurship. In order to support entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship, interventions with finance, education and economic policies are necessary. The mentioned policies are realized by supporting and encouraging entrepreneurs, by supporting them in terms of financial resources and technical support, and by providing a favorable environment for the initiatives that they have established or intended to sustain. In parallel with the developments in other economies in the world, Turkey has also started to give importance to the policies supporting the entrepreneurship in recent years. In this context, by adding entrepreneurial courses to university education programs, taking into account the needs of the new entrepreneurs in the legislation, making simple and comprehensible changes and providing various conveniences, providing support funds that new entrepreneurs can benefit from, increasing the number of support programs and increasing the amount of support programs of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship. is intended to be strengthened. The study consists of 5 sections including entry and conclusion sections. In the introduction of the study, the aim, importance and background of the study were evaluated; In the second part, the introduction of the entrepreneurship concept and the history of the entrepreneurship process have been changed. In the third chapter, economic growth and development concepts and criterions were discussed. In the fourth chapter, the effects of entrepreneurship activities on economic growth and development were evaluated. In the conclusion section, a general framework was tried to be drawn in the light of all explanations.
