Abstract (EN)

This study is carried out on 39 last year students of Faculty of Dentistry. This study excludes the students who have a story of fracture on their upper limb, diagnosed autoimmune disease and get positive provocative test. The selected students are randomly divided into three groups after functionality evaluation; Group I: the students who do only preventive exercise, Group II: the students who use kinesiotape in additon to preventive exercise and Group III: the students who use only kinesiotape. Each group underwent a determined program taught by a physiotherapist. The test is planned as a program for four weeks. The measurements are repated in the middle and at the end of the program. When the groups are compared statistically at the end of the test, we observe that handgrip and pinch endurance value increase significantly in all three groups. We observe a significant recovery in all three groups at the end of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand Problems Survey conducted for the general symptoms. There is not a significant difference among the groups on static discrimination evaluation. However, the students who do only preventive exercise in Group I make much more progress. Finally, it is determined that, in addition to the prophylactic purpose, Kinesiotape can be used as a supportive method in cases that aim to increase manual skill and functionality.
