Abstract (EN)
The onset and evolution of the industrial revolution have led to numerous innovations in industrial organizations. In particular, the textile industry, as one of the leading sectors, has witnessed increases in design methods, fabric preferences, and diversification of material usage within the scope of production methods and applications. The concept of "mechanization" within the equipment on the production line has become more sophisticated, resulting in a decrease in efficiency in the quality ratio due to the increase in production speed. The principal effects of "mechanization" and the accompanying concept of "mass production" in the textile industry are known to be the decline in product quality efficiency through rapid production methods and the expansion of the volume of waste released into the environment. In light of these considerations, the synthesis of craft, textile, and fashion practices becomes essential to demonstrate and support the importance of planning a slower production process and the emergence of designs through handcrafted methods. The weaving method, known as one of the fabric creation techniques in textiles, allows for the production of surface designs with thousands of aesthetic variations based on form and material. These surface designs are evaluated within the context of artistic design applications. In this context, the thesis research titled ''Recommendations for Wearable Art with Handwoven Fabrics" aims to prepare a wearable art work in line within the interactions of weaving and wearable art fields. For this purpose, four different wearable art objects obtained with woven fabric surface designs have been proposed. The woven fabric surface of the produced artwork consists of surface designs woven in accordance with a specific theme. The study, when considered within this framework, suggests that the produced wearable art object conveys imaginative messages about the content of a predetermined theme.
