Abstract (EN)
The Effect of Hand and Finger Exercises on Shooting Accuracy This study aims to investigate whether hand and finger exercises have an effect on shooting accuracy, and if they do, determine the shot grouping of these exercises and its relationship with shooting statistic data. In this study, to obtain the findings to come up as the result of the investigation; a pretest, a posttest, an experimental and a control group model is implemented. 40 teenage girls having no shooting experience before in the 15-18 age group who are willing to volunteer to take part in this study participated in the study. Participants were divided into two groups, one as an experimental group of 20 persons and one as a control group of 20 persons. The experimental group was made to do only hand and finger exercises for 10 weeks, 1 hour a day, 3 days a week. At the end of 10 weeks, final test measurements of subjects were taken. Within the scope of the investigation, to determine the shooting accuracy of subjects, SCATT Shooting Training System (Scatt Shooter Training System, a computer-aided shooting system) was utilized. Via this system: 1. Shot grouping, 2. Shooting statistical data were determined. In order to evaluate the data obtained from the sample group and compose tables, a package program SPSS 18.0 (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) was used. Level of significance was considered as 0.05 in statistical analysis. In line with the findings obtained from the investigation it has been found that there is a significant variance (p<0.01) between hand and finger exercises and shooting score, diametrical dispersion, mean length of aiming trace, stability of aiming in pretest-posttest measurements of the experimental group. Outcomes of our study have indicated that hand and finger exercises have a positive effect on shooting accuracy. Accordingly, we recommend that shooters and trainers include hand and finger exercises in their training program. Keywords: Shooting, Hand Exercise, Finger Exercise, Shooting Accuracy, SCATT
