Özet (EN)

Electric power is a manner of energy that is used in daily life. Electric power is important in that it is an indicator of the development rate of a country and industrialization, due to the fact that it is a major factor in regard to industrialization and the limit of this essential resource. When you bear its importance in mind, precautions should be taken to decrease the loss of electric power which will in turn give more positive results in regard to; the development of a country, industrialization and a peaceful society.During the transmission of the energy to the entities of consumption, there are some losses in the systems involved. The majority of the losses occur in the power distribution systems. This is due to the fact that in power distribution systems, the voltage is low and the current is high compared to transmission systems. Therefore, to develop the effectiveness of the energy in the distribution system would result in a more effective reduction on the loss of energy. In the year 2007, 125 618 561 MWh of energy was used, and 14 % of this energy was lost-illegally used, and 28.6 % of the energy was used by homes in our country. It is unacceptable that there is a high level of lost and illegally used energy. In this thesis, due to the large amount of consumption at homes and big percentage of the losses occurs in the distribution systems, alternative designs are suggested for these systems. In suggested designs, design-1 and design-2 represents underground distribution system and design-3 represents overhead system which we use today. The cost of proposed designs was compared and the effects of power coefficient, on losses were analyzed. As a result of the analysis, large effect of power coefficient on losses is observed. Thesis is concluded as, above ground systems has an advantage in terms of cost but has a disadvantage in terms of losses. Keywords: Conduction Line, Energy Distribution, Low Voltage, Power Coefficient.
