Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, to damp small amplitude and low frequency electromechanical oscillations occurring as a result of load imbalance, long transmission line and power transmission with high value between power regions in power systems, a controller was designed by using a polynomial approach called Coefficient Diagram Method (CDM).In the literature, many control methods have been designed and applied for interconnected power systems to control these oscillations. Step response performances of PID and fractional order PID controller, which are the most commonly used controllers in power systems, and the designed controller by using the CDM have been obtained from Matlab/Simulink and then results were compared.For interconnected systems, it has been seen from results that, designed controller using CDM has short settling time and step response without overshoot of close loop system rather than PID and fractional order PID controller. These in turn show that, the CDM is feasible in controlling modes emerged as inter-area oscillations in interconnected power systems.
