Factors affecting electric car industry demand: A pilot research with Turkish consumers

High expectations for electric cars encouraged countries to make investments in this sector. Countries such as the United States of America, China and European countries, which earn significant income from the automotive industry in the world, have directed their investments to the electric car industry. Turkey has also become one of the countries that direct its investments in the automobile sector to electric automobile production. This study was conducted to measure the variables that affect consumers' demand for electric cars in Turkey. In this context, a study was conducted with Turkish consumers. T-test and ANOVA analyzes were applied to the data obtained from 300 people via the internet survey method. As a result of the research, it has been found that the demands of Turkish consumers for electric cars to be produced in Turkey are affected by 7 factors. These factors are named "Accessible", "Future", "Charge", "Eco-Friendly", "Fuel Cost", "Repair" and "Performance". According to the results of the research, the demand for electric cars varies according to the consumption habits and demographic characteristics of the consumers.
