Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to examine the development and functioning of electronic money and payment systems in Turkey with a multidisciplinary and comparative perspective. First, electronic money will be defined, financial motivations which made electronic money necessary will be discussed, in that context legal regulations in the World will be examined. Another important point that the work focuses on is how harmonious and adequate Turkey's practices and regulations are with global markets. Therefore, after examining the existing financial and legal structure, how should be an ideal legal and financial structure in electronic money system will be discussed. In addition, a broad projection will be tried to turn towards the future of electronic money with the preferences of users and applications in the world and in Turkey.
