Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to examine the state anxiety levels of elite wrestlers in national and international competitions according to different variables. The study group of the research consists of female, freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestlers who participate in both national and international competitions in the same season. The survey form of the research was delivered to the participants face to face and the research was conducted on a voluntary basis. 256 participants were reached in data collection. The survey used to collect data consisted of two parts. In the first part, a personal information form created by the researcher was used, and in the second part, the State Anxiety scale developed by Spielberger et al. (1970) and adapted into Turkish by Öner and Le Compte (1983) was used. The data of the research was collected with the SPSS 25.0 package program. The normality analyzes of the scales were determined by looking at the kurtosis and skewness coefficients, and it was seen that the data were distributed between ±2 and it was decided to apply parametric tests in the analysis of the data. Statistically, frequency, percentage and reliability coefficient calculations, Independent Sample T Test and ANOVA Analyzes were performed. In the analysis, calculations were made based on the 95% range. As a result of the research, state anxiety levels in international competitions in all wrestling styles were found to be significantly lower than in national competitions. In terms of gender, the state anxiety levels of female wrestlers were found to be significantly lower than those of male wrestlers. In height variables, it was observed that the state anxiety levels of participants 159 cm and below were higher than participants 170-174 cm and 180 cm and above. State anxiety levels of female wrestlers were found to be higher than freestyle and Greco-Roman style wrestlers. The state anxiety levels of the participants who took first place in the international championship were found to be significantly higher than the others.
