Abstract (EN)

Volleyball is known as one of the most popular sports branches in the world as a team sport consisting of complex movements and requiring a certain skill. For this reason, psychological skills are seen as an important factor affecting the performance of athletes playing volleyball. Therefore, it was aimed to examine the psychological skills of the athletes playing volleyball in the research. In the study, which was carried out with the participation of 270 athletes, "Scale for Evaluating the Psychological Skills of Athletes" was used as a data collection tool. Research data were analyzed with SPSS24 data analysis program. Parametric statistical techniques were used in the analyses, due to the normal distribution of the data. As a result of the research, it was seen that the skill levels of men were higher than women. In addition, there were differences in the research according to the age and education level of the athletes playing volleyball. Athletes with a higher age and higher education level had higher psychological skills. Low income level has been seen as an important factor that negatively affects the psychological skills of athletes. In addition, it has been seen in the research that the psychological skills of the athletes are related to features such as being open to learning, coping with difficulties, performing well under pressure, concentration and getting rid of worries.
