Family is one of the most key elements of a society and it has always existed since the beginning of human history, maintaining its importance and existence throughout history. From primitive peoples to the complex modern societies, it is not possible to see a society without the concept of family. Thus, our holy book pays great importance to the family institution. The verdicts of family law depend more on revelation than those of other law areas do. Perhaps, this is because Allah (c.c.) attaches a tremendous significance to the family institution. The aim of Islamic family law is to establish a family institution based on love and respect, where no one of family members feels hard done, the creation and qualities of both males and females. Muslims have two essential sources at hand: Quran and The Sunna. It is a task for every wholehearted Muslim to live the family institution taking these two sources into account and to learn about family law. At this very point, we aim to deal with how our original source, Elmalılı M. Hamdi Yazır, an interpreter and lawyer, explains the Ayahs that are related to family law and what his detections are.
