The reforming analysis of production process of Emet boric acid

Boron is one of the indispensable elements for living things in nature to carry on their lives. Furthermore; boron head the list of the elements, that have common usage area in the world. Substantial amount of world?s boron reserves exist in our country. Emet Boron Works which is located in Emet country of Kütahya province, wind up boron ore from opencasts, enrichs the ore in concentrators and transforms the ore to final product after chemical operations in boric acid plant.Nearly all of the product of boric acid which is produced in Emet Boron Works, come out to the world market. It is required to enhance the factors such as productivity, quality and performance to provide competitive advantage in global market and for the presence of profitable and powerful company.We believe that process improvement, and in this context Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) method, could have important contribution to enhance these factors and we put the method in practice in this study.In this study, it is aimed to improve the production process of boric acid plant which is located in Emet country of Kütahya province, where the boron mine - one of our country?s natural resources ? commonly exits in the world.In the study, informations are given about the chemical composition of boron mine, the industrial areas that the boron minerals are commonly used and moreover the areas that they can be used in future are also mentioned. The reserves of boron mine both in Turkey and in the world are investigated in the study, additionally the establishments of Emet Boron Works are represented in a detailed way.
