Abstract (EN)
Fine boron residues (-3mm) has been stored in waste pool in the Eti Bor A.Ş. Emet Bor Espey Concentrator Facility. This waste pool is being grown and filled day by day, so problems are being consisted about environmental view and health and they alsohave a negative impact on operational costs. In this waste pool, B2O3 content has a high percent like 26.33 %. This loss should be gained by an appropriate enrichment method. Consequently, these negative impacts wiill be minimized. For solving boron enrichment problem in waste pools, two gradual enrichment method has been designed and experimental studies have been done.In the first step, mechanical admixture is done for boron enrichment. Dispensationi chemical dispensation and classification works are done in mechanical admixture. The product results are grouped in 3 fractions as +150µm, -150µm +38µm and -38µm. In +150µm fraction, 43.76% of B2O3 grade concentration has achieved with 73.51% of efficiency. In the other fractions, there is not any appropriate economical enrichment value. Hence, in the second step, flotation method has been applied to -150µm size and in flotation experiments, Jameson Flotation Colon, which has high performance on fine boron residues, has been used. For finding appropriate flotation conditions, collector and frothing material dosage, jet lenght and speed, bias factor, immersion depth, solid ratio and shudge effect factors? effects on efficiency and grade has been searched. In appropriate flotation conditions, 46.63% of B2O3 grade concentration has been procured with 99.47% of efficiency.A solution has been developed in the laboratory environment with gaining high grade and efficiency about the concertration by Jameson Flotation Colon, which was firstly used in this area.academic researches should be done with pilot and idustrial extent. Keywords: Boron, Boron flotation, Jameson flotation column, Colemanite, Colemanite flotation.
