Abstract (EN)

Emin Alper's cinema constitutes a suitable discussion area for the hegemonic relations of masculinities among themselves and their power relationships with nature. For this reason, in this study, I aimed to examine Emin Alper's films Tepenin Ardı, Abluka and Kurak Günler from the perspective of critical masculinity studies and ecofeminism. I examine these films, and claim that Emin Alper criticizes masculinity by associating the violence of male institutions with the exploitation of nature. I aim to demonstrate how the hegemonic masculinity discourses support and cause this violence, as well as its effect on men's power struggle. This study was created by using the ideas of researchers who found it necessary to work together on critical masculinity studies and ecofeminism. In the thesis, firstly, I discuss how the study of critical masculinity studies and ecofeminist perspective can work together. Following that, I look into the critical masculinity studies in Turkish cinema. Then, I examine three films Tepenin Ardı, Abluka and Kurak Günler of Emin Alper from the perspective of critical masculinity and ecofeminism.
