Abstract (EN)
Culture is the accumulation of material and moral values of a nations created by that nation in time. Culture is the most important element of a nation of the past. Culture is the most important item affecting joint values of nations and is the most important element to the path to nationhood. Another must to be a nation is unity of language, unity of religion, sharing a common past, folk culture and values, and living in the same piece of land. İf a nation can save, keep alive and convey material and cultural heritage created in time, it can maintain the features of being a nation. Otherwise it steps under sovereignty of other cultures and is subjected to becoming extinct. Based on human,novels narrate the community that human being lives. Novelist recognizes both himself/herself and the community he/she lives and he/she reflects culture of that community on his/her pieces. Whereby by means of his/her readers the novelist conyveys his/her pieces of folk culture to next generations, and this is called culture transfer. For a writer or a novelist is the transmitter of culture as well as culture carrier. In his study I studied on one of the eminent novelist of contemporary Türkish Literature, Emine Işınsu's all novels in terms of folklore an folk culture. With studies, readings and taggings I prepared a pieces. This study has significat impotance in terms of giving insight about the role of folklore in Emine Işınsu's novels. KEY WORDS: Emine Işınsu, folklore, folk culture.
