Amir Timur's view of İslam and religious leaders

Timurid Statehappens to be a Turkish state that arose out of the political gap created after Genghis Khan and that kept the conquered regions under its influence for hundreds of years. The military success of the Timurids, which emergedrapidly in a short time, does not explain this spread alone. There are many studies on the causes of this expansion, especially in western countries. Unlike the classical-steppe-states, the Timurids continued after Amir Timur's life and furthermore, the brightest periods of the state took place after Amir Timur. In this study, the point of understanding of clergy, which was one of the factors that might affect this development apart from military power, is examined. It is known that Amir Timur developed close relations especially with some clergymen. In order to understand the quality of these relations, the first chapter titled "Amir Timur's Emergence as a Power" was written out. In this section, Amir Timur's perspective of religion is explained in the subheadings "Amir Timur's View of Islamic Religion" and "Amir Timur's View of Islamic Cults". The title of the second chapter of the research is "Amir Timur's Relations with the Clergy". In this section, the religions and activities of the scientists chosen according to the various features of the study and their lives besides their relations with Amir Timur are examined. The title of the third chapter is determined as "Science Fields Related to Religion in the Period of Amir Timur". In this section, information on the sciences that are effective in the religious view of Amir Timur is explored. The study tried to explain the possible religious and political reasons of Amir Timur's attitude towards the clergymen. The study was concluded with the findings and future study proposals. In this study, main sources and related modern works related to the subject have been utilized.
