Potential effects of industry 4.0 on the labor market and professions of the future

Industrial revolutions have led to radical changes in production, economy and society. The Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) is transforming production and service processes with advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, the internet of things and big data. The most obvious impact of this transformation is seen in the labor market; automation is taking over repetitive jobs, while demand for areas requiring creative and analytical skills is increasing. In this thesis, the effects of Industry 4.0 on the labor market, the new occupational groups that are likely to emerge in this context, and the skills that will be needed for these occupations are addressed with a holistic approach. Within the scope of the study; technological advances that occurred with industrial revolutions, changes in business practices, problems that may be encountered regarding the continuity of existing occupations, and how education systems should respond to this transformation are analyzed. The original aspect of the research lies in the fact that it examines the dynamics of Industry 4.0, predicts future labor needs, and offers a perspective on how both individuals and institutions can be prepared for this transformation process. This study, developed based on a literature review, is a strategic guide for the business world and education systems; It aims to contribute to effective adaptation in the digital transformation process.
