Abstract (EN)

In this study, industrial wastes are used as an impermeable material for the sanitary landfill design. Industrial wastes are improved physically, chamically and mechanically by stabilization/solidification technique. It has been suggested that industrial wastes such as waste sludge and molded sand were improved by additives such as lime and zeolite and then used as an impermeable material for the sanitery landfill. Geotechnical and physico- chemical properties of mixtures are determined before and after stabilization. Therefore, it has been not only waste material improved but also economical solution suggested. Sanitary landfill design is suggested for the Bozüyük County of City of Bilecik. Laboratory prepared mixtures are to use for the impermeable bottom, top and side slope liners in the sanitary landfill design. Waste sludge and molded sand are obtained from the Factory of Eczacıbaşı and the Factory of Toprak Demir Döküm, respectively. Key words: Industrial Wastes, Sanitary Landfill Design, Lime, Zeolite Stabilization /Solidification Methods.
