Abstract (EN)
With the industrial revolution and the development of technology, many new tools, equipment and machinery have entered our lives. These machines have reduced the workload of human beings and expanded their power limits. However, with the speed of industrialization, the tools used were constantly renewed and left behind a pile of industrial waste. Efforts have been initiated to recycle these wastes. Among these works, it is noteworthy that the metal wastes that cause environmental pollution are transformed into three-dimensional works of art from being a heap of scrap. In recent years there has been an increase in the number of these works and interested artists. This study aimed to analyze the three-dimensional metal art elements of industrial waste to be converted in the works of leading artist Rüçhan Keçeci in Turkey. The study was carried out using the individual monograph technique. The sample of the study was determined in accordance with purposive sampling. In the study, Rüçhan Keçeci and his works were analyzed in depth because of the reasons that he had produced a number of works, was well known by his sculptures, was the first artist using waste metals to become in Turkey, had originality and different artifacts, had received national and international awards in the field and our country. The works were classified according to the subject, material used, size, weight and date of construction. In addition, Rüçhan Keçeci was interviewed and his information was consulted. Sculptor Rüçhan Keçeci, with his visual creative intelligence, evaluates waste materials that are environmental problems esthetically and makes three-dimensional sculptures with metal wastes. It was seen that Keçeci used the art way to create awareness for waste objects. The artist calls his work "art of metal" and uses this title in his exhibitions.50 works were identified in six codes; human figures (n=14), animal figures (n=6), monuments (n=3), special designs (n=12), decorative designs for use (n=9) and thematic designs (n=6).It was determined that Keçeci did not produce works on a single subject and had a wide range of works. The works of the artist, which were examined under special designs, were exhibited by various institutions and organizations. In the works of the artist's sensitivity to science and society is remarkable. It is seen that Keçeci gives a different identity to the waste material with the works he designed, and he interprets this newly acquired material from an ordinary scrap and waste with an artistic attitude. Each of his works is original and does not resemble other artists. The fact that Rüçhan Keçeci made almost all his works using waste materials is an important feature that distinguishes him from other metal sculpture artists. In addition, the use of the parts used by the artist without disturbing the features of the material, for example, the gear wheel previously used in a car, such as the use of the artist's work in the knee joint is different from other metal sculpture artists. The concept of converting industrial wastes into three-dimensional metal art elements is quite new. This study, where Rüçhan Keçeci who is one of the pioneers of this movement and his works were examined, will contribute to the researchers who will work on metal sculptures consisting of wastes that we will encounter more in the future. The work is also the analysis of his works made from waste metals with is believed to be beneficial to art lovers.
