Abstract (EN)

Water consumption and wastewater production increase in proportion to the development of technology and industry. The water, which is exposed to different processes during the production stages of the textile industry, contains various pollutants. At the beginning of these pollutants are dyestuffs. Dyes cause color problems in wastewater and are not aesthetically pleasing. For this reason, many treatment methods such as physical, chemical, and biological are used in the removal of dyestuff from wastewater and environmentally friendly technologies are being researched. The electrocoagulation method is an environmentally friendly technology that works with high efficiency in the removal of dyestuffs from wastewater and produces a small amount of treatment sludge, does not need chemicals, and can easily adapt to the system. In this study, wastewater prepared in the laboratory and containing a mixture of 3 different dyestuffs (Acid Red 114(AR114), Acid Violet 109 (AV109), Reactive Black 5 (RB5)) was treated using electrocoagulation method. Electrolysis time, pH, electrolyte amount, current density, initial concentration, which affect electrocoagulation efficiency, were examined and optimum conditions were determined for color removal.
