Özet (EN)

The mechanical properties, thermal shock and corrosion behavior of MgO Spinel bricks, which were produced having different compositions with additions of 10, 15, 25w% spinel ratios, were studied, the concurrent changes determined, and the parameters influencing those factors as well as their reasons investigated. For the samples produced, the density, strength, elastic modulus, fracture toughness, fracture surface energy, work energy and critical fault size data were evaluated by measurements. Microstructural changes and fracture surfaces were examined in relation to the spinel quantities. In order to determine the high temperature performance of the refractory materials, the thermal stress/shock parameters (R, R''', Rst) γWOF/Γs ratios were calculated, and the thermal shock behavior of the samples tested at 950°C were investigated. By assessing the measured mechanical properties, the compositions that showed high thermal shock resistance were established. Furthermore, the corrosion resistance of the refractory samples subjected to corrosion tests were determined based on their measured corrosion indexes. The effect of different spinel ratios on MgO-spinel bricks, and the optimum recipe ratios under different conditions were identified.
