Evaluation of work safety opinions of employees in industrial kitchen equipment production

Occupational health and safety is the planned work to prevent the occurrence of dangers and risks arising from various reasons that may harm the health of the workers during work. The increase in production activities with the development and widespread use of technology; It has caused many negativities in the form of more work accidents, increased loss of life and decreased production. Therefore, in order to minimize industrial accidents and occupational diseases, dangerous situations and dangerous movements should be minimized in the workplaces. As in every sector, employees are faced with dangers and risks in businesses where industrial kitchen equipment is produced. For this reason, the prevention of occupational accidents and occupational diseases begins with the adoption of a safety culture for employees. People who work in companies where the safety culture is developed have a higher level of awareness of occupational health and safety. The aim of this research is to determine the opinions of the employees in the enterprise producing industrial kitchen equipment in Samsun province regarding occupational safety and to make suggestions for a safer working environment by evaluating the results obtained. In this thesis, the survey technique was used as a data collection tool. "Occupational Safety Scale" consisting of 32 items under one dimension was applied to the employees. This scale was developed by Willamson et al. (1997) and adapted to Turkish by Atay (2006). This study was carried out with the data obtained from 69 employees working in the company at the time of the research. SPSS 22.0 statistical package program was used to analyze the data collected within the scope of the research. ANOVA and Independent Sample T Test were used to analyze the data.
