Active fire safety measures to be taken in industrial facilities and creation of a fire scenario

Abstract (EN)

The presence of fire safety awareness and awareness in adults leads to the elimination of fire risks and the positive conclusion of fire fighting, but in the community of adults who have not developed fire safety awareness, even simple fires lead to a large number of lives and property losses. The aim of the study is to contribute to the creation of a fire safety culture, to prove the existence of a decrease in fire risks with an increase in fire safety awareness and awareness. Nowadays, fires are one of the most important hazards of the production processes carried out in industrial facilities. It is also a fact that the fire hazard has not been fully resolved to date. A significant number of fires and explosions occur in industrial facilities in Turkey. These fires cause deaths and injuries, major environmental damages and economically extraordinary material losses. Especially in chemical industry facilities, various fires and explosions occur because various flammable and explosive chemical substances are used as raw materials, intermediates, final products. Decontamination and explosion occur. In chemical substance fires and other industrial fires, fires break out and cannot be extinguished due to what needs to be done to prevent fires and explosions, how to intervene in the fire, what kind of equipment to use is unknown, personnel are not trained. In the absence of fire and explosion in industrial facilities and what should be done in case of fire, management, facility, personnel, equipment, legal requirements will be explained together with the events that occurred. In 2018, there were at least 436 industrial fires and explosions in Turkey. 385 Of these incidents are industrial fires, and 51 of them are industrial explosions. At least 25 people lost their lives and 72 people were injured in these industrial fires and explosions. Hundreds of people were treated after being affected by the suffocating and toxic gases that emerged after the fire. The events that took place outside the working hours prevented the balance sheet from being much heavier again. There were at least 182 industrial fires and explosions in 2017. The difference in news source diversity in 2017 and 2018 makes it difficult to make a reliable comment about the change in the number of fires and explosions over time. Fires and explosions are not avoidable events. Many of the industrial fires and explosions can be prevented with the process and occupational safety measures to be taken by experts by applying scientific methods. Despite this, the effects of fires and explosions on humans and the environment can be reduced. Although the fire and explosion risk of each industrial facility has different dimensions, fire protection should be the first step to recognize that facilities where the oxygen content in the air is at sufficient levels and flammable/explosive materials are found to have the potential for fire. Controlled use of flammable materials and ignition sources is required in the fight against fires and explosions. Simple reasons such as non-compliance with the basic storage rules of flammable materials, lack of a work permit system or not being used effectively in sparking works are industrial fire and it is one of the most important causes of explosions. Industrial fires are growing because fires grow within the first 5 minutes, it is late to intervene in the fire at the beginning of fires, effective intervention cannot be performed. The job of the fire department that comes to extinguish the fire becomes difficult. In case of fires that will occur in an industrial facility, emergency scenarios should be created to minimize the impact of hazards such as heat, smoke, toxic gas, choking gas and panic that may be caused by the fire in terms of life safety, to ensure safe evacuation of people within a reasonable time frame, especially to prevent stampede and psychological stress, and scenarios should be started automatically when an emergency situation occurs. Planning of fire emergency scenarios is one of the most effective methods in preventing loss of life and property. In addition, while ensuring life safety, it should also be ensured that all types of materials inside and outside the building are saved from fire with minimal damage. For this reason, firstly, by taking active fire safety measures into consideration, it will be possible to minimize the negative situations that may occur after the fire and fire to a minimum with the fire scenario. The effects of ignored post-fire outputs (smoke, Decongestant gas, carbon monoxide) in the fire... etc.) and psychological and social effects that are likely to leave a permanent mark are considered and examined in detail are part of the subject of the study. It is aimed to implement emergency scenarios in the event of fire exposure and to minimize possible errors in the application. One of the main objectives is to ensure the implementation of the fire scenario by taking into account the compliance of active and passive fire safety measures with legislation and relevant regulations. In the current fire scenarios, fire precautions have been observed and it has been determined that there is a need for improvement. Accordingly, it is aimed to provide recommendations on the development of sector-specific local scenarios and facilitating the implementation of existing scenarios, to enable employees to overcome an emergency situation with minimal damage, to take and take the necessary precautions and measures before and after the fire in a necessary and safe way. Emergency scenarios should be revised according to the needs of the sector and should be applicable and sustainable. Accordingly, the formation of emergency teams, accompanied by the team leader and with the support of expert trainers, all the necessary trainings will be provided. During the training, the progress stages of the participants will be recorded and subjected to an exam while passing to a higher education. The use of standardized data collection tools will be kept in the foreground. Analysis of the collected data The transfer of the data to numerical indicators will be concluded in an impartial and objective manner. The research topic of the study, "Active Fire Safety Measures to be Taken in Industrial Facilities and the Creation of a Fire Scenario", the advantages and disadvantages of the job of creating fire scenarios will be analyzed and the most efficient result will be applied. The accuracy and benefit degrees of the data and developments resulting from the comparisons will be determined and the final part of the study will be written. In this study, a survey was conducted among various factories and employees located in Tekirdağ province, fire safety awareness and awareness were measured, analysis of the collected data, transmission to numerical indicators were provided and suggestions were presented Dec. Fire safety trainings will be carried out by authorized trainers in two stages, teams will be formed in the application section and recorded on video within the permissions. After the training, the mentioned training videos will improve the quality of the training to be given, increase the impact on individuals, and find and correct possible common mistakes. The fire safety trainings implemented after on-site reconnaissance will be strengthened with possible scenarios and will provide marginal benefit to the formation of fire awareness.
