Showing an alteration of knowledge level of the employees, failure to obey the measures and procedures taken are generated several fatal occupational accident in the sectors such as metal, natural gas, petroleum and coal mine from one of the leading sectors that provide continuous employment to our country where multiple employment is increased continuously. As a result of the failure of the employer to take sufficient measures, it is high probability to occur explosive atmosphere in studies performed daily, repair-maintenance (due to reasons such as leaking gases, combustible, inflammable, chemical vapour or petroleum vapour) all processes where the combustible, inflammable chemicals are used, stored and limited. In this study, the measures will be determined that should be taken by making hazardous area calculations and practical calculations within the scope of the international standards and by considering the risks which may be occurred with the atmosphere explosion (ATEX) not generated under existing conditions in all sectors and change and deterioration of operating conditions within the occupational health and safety. For this purpose, 5x5 matrix risk assessment methodology and modelling program have been used in order to determine the actions that should be taken pursuant to Occupational Health and Safety Law numbered 6331, TS EN 60079 standard, ATEX directives and intemational standards.
