The importance of renewable energy resources and sustainable energy policies within the scope of energy supply security

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of economic growth and development is extremely important that today both the importance of the world as the energy source used increasingly with the increasing demand for energy needed in Turkey's economy and security of energy supply. In terms of energy resources, energy policies implemented in countries with foreign dependency gain importance within the framework of the concept of energy supply security. In order to reduce dependence on foreign energy and to be sustainable, countries; They turn to renewable energy sources in order to meet their increasing energy needs, and the policies they follow cause the renewable energy resources to become widespread. Within the scope of supply security, energy resources, which have a strategic importance in economic growth performance are available, economical and usable, sustainable, and ensuring the safe accessibility of this resource constitute the basic building blocks of energy supply security. In this study, which consists of four parts; the first part is the introduction and summary information about the main topics covered in the study, the second part is the definition and scope of energy supply security, its components, all dimensions of the factors affecting supply security, the third part is the importance of renewable energy resources, production and consumption amounts and potentials, and in the fourth part, renewable energy sources within the scope of alternative sources of energy supply security, whether in the private world and in Turkey, has also introduced energy policies implemented in terms of sustainability.
