Qiraat Ashara differences between al-Anfal - al-Tawbah surahs and their effects in the meaning

Abstract (EN)

The reading (al-qiraat) differences of Surat al-Anfal and al-Tawbah and the influence of these differences to the meaning will be discussed in this study. The study has two parts. In the first part, some basic information had been given about the science of reading (ilm al-qiraat). In this sense, the historical development of the science of reading, the founders of qiraat, the types of qiraat and the connection of seven letters with reading differences had been explained. Some introductory information had been given about Surat al-Anfal and Surat al-Tawbah and had been mentioned about the connection between these sura(h)s. The reading differences between these two sura(h)s had been discussed in the most of the first part. The reading differences had been analyzed under the title of grammar (sarf), syntax (nahīv), phonetics in this review. In the second part of the study, the relation of the reading differences with Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) and tafsir had been analyzed. Later on, the influence and contribution of the controversies on the readings in Surat al-Anfal and al-Tawbah to the meaning had been discussed. Some of the reading differences have an influence on the meaning, some don't have. As the influence of these differences to the meaning were discussed, the works on the readings (qiraat), exegesis and linguistics which examines the verses from different perspectives had been benefited.
