Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the different special need groups and perceived constraints on physical activity of female and male who are in this groups. 265 female and 378 male disabled individuals whose age range is 19-64 participated in the study. Leisure Time Physical Activity Constraints (LTPA-C) is used as data collection tool. LTPA-C scale is a valid and reliable measurement method with an 8factor consisting of 32 items used for disabled individuals. Then, multivariate analysis of variance test is used to examine whether the difference between the means of special needs groups was statistically significant. According to the results of the analysis, it was found that the factors related to the special needs group and gender independent variable had significant differences both as interactive and as the main effect on the limitations of physical activity. Female individuals with orthopedic special needs perceive facility access, social environment and talent perception as restrictive. On the other hand, female individuals with special needs of vision perceived restrictive in facility, quality and income sub-dimension. In other words, this research has revealed that individuals perceive different restrictors according to their disability groups and genders. The main reason for this situation is that the differences of the disabled people's daily life practices and these activities are related to the physical activity content. In addition, the disadvantages experienced by a individual with special needs due to their gender also may have an effect on physical activity behaviors. Keywords: Disabled, Physical activity, Perceived restrictive
