Abstract (EN)

This research aims to examine the relationship between sports participation motivation and psychological resilience levels of disabled individuals. The relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. While determining the research group, the "Sampling Easily Available" method was used. A total of 296 athletes with language impairment, visual, hearing and physical disabilities, including 107 women and 189 men residing in Tokat and Kastamonu provinces, participated in the research. "personal information form", "Sports participation motivation scale in disabled individuals" and "psychological resilience scale" were used as data collection tools. All data were analyzed by saving them to the SPSS (statistical package for social sciences) for Windows 22 program on the computer. To decide the normality of the data, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was evaluated by examining kurtosis and skewness values, which are other assumptions of normal distribution. Independent sample t-test was used to compare two independent groups. One-way analysis of variance was used to compare more than two independent groups, and the Tukey test was used to determine the source of the difference. The relationship between numerical variables was examined with Pearson correlation coefficient. A significance level of 0.05 was used as a criterion in interpreting whether the obtained values were significant or not. In line with the findings obtained in the research, it was determined that there was a low positive relationship between psychological resilience and motivation to participate in sports, and the psychological resilience levels of the participants differed significantly according to the income level variable. In addition, it was determined that the motivations of the participants to participate in sports differed significantly according to the variables of age, education level, income level, sports age and weekly sports time.
