Abstract (EN)
Rapid population growth, urbanization and industrialization and the rapid development of technology have led to a significant increase in waste amounts and waste types. For this reason, known wastes cannot always be disposed of using standard methods. Since there are many types of waste, especially in industries, it is difficult to establish and operate a separate management system for each type of waste. The necessity of a management system involving all wastes has emerged. Contamination by solid wastes and their current and potential risks increase day by day, with the reduction of natural resources, economic and other reasons, solid waste management is becoming increasingly important and complicated in our time. Therefore, it is imperative that the components of an integrated solid waste management that includes all stages from waste generation to final disposal and their relations with each other must be well known. Integrated Solid Waste Management (EKAY), using different methods in waste management planning to minimize environmental impact with a holistic approach and aims at keeping costs low in waste disposal. Nowadays, when the hierarchy of integrated waste management is examined, it is seen that the steps are Waste Prevention, Waste Reduction, Reuse, Recycling, Recovery, Final Disposal. In this study, the features, components, need for the system and the Integrated Waste Management System applied in the Solid Waste Landfill and Disposal Facility in Afyonkarahisar province were examined. The amount of waste in the province of Afyonkarahisar and its districts and the rate of change over the years, the energy amounts obtained and the processes in the system were discussed. The amount of waste in Afyonkarahisar province and districts and the rate of change over the years, the amounts of energy obtained and processes in the system were discussed, the issues that would increase the efficiency of the current system and the processes that could be added to the system were addressed.
