Abstract (EN)

To increase their market share and to take advantage against their competitors, companies should be using their resources best possible way. In this case, being active and using their stock effectively together with controlling cost is very important for the firms. From the past to the present time many works have been done and many programs have been developed to turn the cost of stocks in favor of the company. These practices still continue to exist today. In this study, a private food producing company has been taken as a model. The stock materials used in product packaging were categorized in to known criteria?s and programs were developed for use in inventory models so that management can make decisions easier. For this purpose Microsoft Excel program was developed to use for stock control. Because of these programs, we aim to decrease the faults on inventory management and the cost of stock management. Also periodically helpful materials have given positive results at the end. By this way the stock policies that provide maximum efficiency will be improved for stocks, which are the high cost and main components for any firm. The first study was applied at a macaroni factory which constitutes 90% of the total production within the firm. This study will be later implemented in other factories.
