Abstract (EN)

Composite materials basically consist of matrix material and reinforcement element. The properties of a composite material vary according to the properties of the matrix material and the reinforcement element in the structure, their geometry, and the distribution of the reinforcement element in the matrix. In this thesis, epoxy resin is used as the matrix material. Although epoxy resins have high mechanical properties, heat and electrical resistance and adhesion properties, the properties of the structure can be improved by adding nano additives into the structure. Within the scope of the study, the changes in the mechanical, thermal and microstructural properties were investigated by adding nano-sized nickel oxide (NiO) in different proportions into the epoxy. In this context, tensile test and three-point bending test were applied to the samples obtained by adding nano-sized nickel oxide into epoxy resin at different rates in order to determine the mechanical properties, thermogravimetric analysis was performed to determine the thermal properties, and scanning electron microscopy was carried out to examine the microstructure.
