Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this thesis is, to investigate the behaviours of fiberglass-epoxy composites that are under low-velocity impact effect. For this goal experiments of dynamical behaviors of,fiberglass composite plates for different fixtures have been conducted and the results are plotted and analyzed for evaluation. The tests have been performed on the vertical drop weight testing machine that is desined in Mechanics loboratory as part of our TÜBİTAK career Project. The parameters, accepted by the piezo electric force tranducer which is mounted between dropping weight and impactor, have been converted to force-time graphics. The velocity-time, sedimentation-force, energy ?sedimentation graphichs have been drawn using the data şobtained in our experiment .Impact tests have been performed under the limitation of a constant 3 kg weight and 0.5 m, 0.75m,1m, 1.5m and 2m .heights.Because of the possibility of causing a crack fort he plate. The test examples have been manufactured ,0/90, -45/45 and -30/30 fiber orientationed 8 symmetrical layers and , 2 mm average thickness .And the tests were performed by the situation of four side fixtured examples and two side fixtured examples. Finally, the experimental implications were performed with graphic interpretations about under the time related dynamic loading composite panels dynamic behaviors according to fixture position and the differences occurred from fixture. Keywords: Low velocity impact,fiberglass-epoxy,dynamic behavior.
