Özet (EN)

This dissertation consists of six chapters. In the first chapter, principals of spline and B-spline functions, Solitary waves is given and techniques to be implemented by the method of finite elements is introduced. Moreover, several brief information given about the EW-equation practised throughout the dissertation.In the second chapter, method of Quadratic B-spline Galerkin was carried out for the numerical solution of EW-equation and three sample problems were studied.In the third chapter, after being stated, method of least squares implemented for the numerical solution of EW-equation. Besides, two sample problems were studied.In the fourth chapter, after being stated, method of cubic B-spline collocation implemented for the numerical solution of EW-equation. three sample problems were studied in order to point out the trenchancy of this method. The numerical solution of EW-equation using the method of cubic spline collocation examined in the next section. The impression of the method is expressed by studying sample problems including the motion of solitary waves. In the last section, a collation of the methods used to numerically solve the EW-equation is carried out.
