Reflections of the Erasmus+ staff mobility (KA101) on the perspectives of teachers of subjects other than foreign languages on the learning of foreign languages

The aim of this research is to examine the reflections of teachers on their perspectives on foreign language learning who work in official public schools, whose branch is not foreign language teaching, and who have participated in the Erasmus + Staff Mobility Programme (KA101/Key Action). The research was carried out as a case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. A semi-structured interview form prepared by the researcher was used as the data collection tool. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 10 teachers working in the central district of Tokat province. Descriptive analysis method was used to interpret the data. This study found that,teachers participating in the Erasmus+ Programme were motivated to improve a foreign language, and that learning about new cultures and their education systems of these cultures boosted their confidence and professional performance. It was also found that teachers developed positive thoughts about participating in similar programmes. The findings were discussed and some suggestions were made based on these findings.
