Abstract (EN)

Aluminum and its alloys are suitable for casting, have high electrical conductivity, are resistant to corrosion, are not poisonous, and are an important engineering material that is widely used in many areas such as automotive, aviation, defense, machinery manufacturing industry. However, as its use increases in many sectors with high technology requirements, quality requirements are also increasing. Depending on the increase in quality expectation from aluminum casting alloys, studies on casting with different alloying element additions and the use of new technology in production continue. Added alloys and applied heat treatments affect the physical and chemical properties of aluminum, as a result of these processes, aluminum is tried to be obtained with the desired properties. In this study, the effect of adding 0.03%, 0.06% and 0.1% Erbium (Er) to A356 aluminum casting alloy on the casting properties will be evaluated by pouring it into different permanent molds. Within the scope of examining the casting properties, the effect of Er addition on flowability, grain refinement, microstructure properties and mechanical properties will be evaluated.
