Abstract (EN)

Ercüment Ekrem Talû (1888-1956), the son of Recaizade Mahmut Ekrem, one of the famous names of the Tanzimat period, was brought up in a family environment with a high level of culture. The environment in which he grew up enabled him to receive a very good education from an early age. Having studied at Galatasaray High School and taking lessons from famous names of the period such as Tevfik Fikret, he opened the doors of a quality education life. He started his writing life before the Constitutional period and continued in the Republican years. Talû, which he write uninterruptedly until the end of his life, first made his name know in the field of press and broadcasting. The writer, who followed the path of Ahmet Mithat in the field of journalism, was a prolific personality whose value could not be underestimated in scope of press and broadcasting. He worked in almost all the newspapers and magazines of the period and was followed with great interest by him readers with him successive articles. In addition to this success he achieved with his journalistic identity, Talû, who is one of the important figures in the field of literature, has produced works in many genres such as novels, stories, poems, plays, jokes and memoirs. He was a widely read and appreciated writer throughout his life. He became famous for his humorous stories in the literary field, and created a great impact in his period with the character of Meşhedi Cafer, which he created in his work called Meşhedi Stories, which is created in the from of a series. These stories made him remembered as a humorist. In general, the author, who touches on many social and political issues such as the place of women in society and false westernization, has several short stories about the war of liberation. Ercüment Ekrem, who appeared as the Evliya Çelebi of the period with the humorous aspect of his style and writings he used in his stories and novels, successfully used the narrative techniques of the Traditional Turkish Theater in his works and attracted attention at the some time attracted attention with the use of stereotyped words such as proverbs and idioms. The author, who gives a lot of place to traditional elements and his work in him works, has successfully used the narrative style of meddah while creating her works. Our study has been examined in Ercüment Ekrem Talû's stories and novels: traditional narrative style, eating and drinking habits, various beliefs and traditional narrative elements, and the examples identified in these works are gathered under appropriate titles.
