Perception of virtuous person scale: Validity reliabilityand study

In this study, it was aimed to develop a "Virtuous Human Perception Scale" to measure individuals' perceptions of virtuous people. The research was designed using quantitative survey model. Scale development processes were followed in the study. The research was collected in 3 stages through the participants determined by the convenience sampling method. In the first of these stages, EFA was conducted using a draft form with 50 items, and as a result of the analysis, it was decided to prepare the second draft form. Data were collected from 314 participants for the first stage, 238 participants for the second stage and 330 participants for the last stage, and the validity, reliability and item analyses of the scale were carried out. EFA was conducted on the second study group, and as a result of the analysis, the 32-item second draft form was reduced to 21 items. CFA was conducted with the last study group and convergent, divergent and nomological validities were calculated on the 21-item draft form. As a result, the final version of the scale was confirmed as 21 items and 5 factors. As a result of the factor analyses, it was determined that the scale explained 57.17% of the total variance for the first stage and 54.50% for the second stage. As a result of CFA, the fit indices were calculated as χ2/sd value 2.13, RMSEA value .059, CFI value .90, GFI value .90 and NFI value .83; in the convergent validity analysis, it was determined that the factor loadings were generally above or close to .50, and the AVE values for the factors were smaller than the CR values. In the divergent validity analysis, it was determined that the correlation between the factors was less than .90 and the AVE square root values were greater than the correlation coefficients. The fact that the correlation values were positive and significant indicated that nomological validity was achieved. The five-factor structure of the scale was confirmed with the path diagram. As a result of the reliability analysis, the internal consistency alpha coefficient was found to be .74 for the first stage, .80 for the second stage and .83 for the last stage. As a result of the coefficients obtained, it was concluded that the scale was reliable. As a result, the findings regarding the validity, reliability and item analysis of the scale reveal that the scale is valid, reliable and usable to determine the perceptions of virtuous people.
