Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is the examine the relationships between the Dark Triad personality traits consisting of Machiavellianism, psychopathy and narcissism and the Five Factor personality traits, self-esteem and values. Study group was determined with convenience sampling method and consisted of 331 high school students from Niğde. Dark Triad Dirty Dozen Scale, Five Factor Personality Scale, Self-Esteem Scale and Portrait Values Scale were applied to the participants. In the research, which is a descriptive study, correlation analysis and multiple regression model were used to analyze the data. As a result of the analyzes, the personality dimensions of extraversion and openness to experience were positively correlated; neuroticisim and agreeableness were negatively correlated with the Dark Triad personality traits. Self-esteem did not predict Dark Triad personality traits. In addition to these findings, in the study, it was found that power, achievement and hedonism values predicted the Dark Triad personality traits positively. And also benevolence, conformity and tradition values were predicted The Dark Triad personality traits negatively. The findings were discussed in the light of the literature.
